In a flash, 2010 is over, and here comes 2011. One more year till we get attacked by aliens if what some ancient race predicted is true. ;) Oh well, we best enjoy life while it lasts eh?

The usual thing to do in the beginning of the year is to look back at what we have done in the past year and what we hope to improve in the new year.

Heres some of the things that i hope to improve in the new year @:

Work:

Hopefully i do get some "actual" (promotion, etc) recognition instead of the usual "You know we want to push u up but this but that..." I don't think i can tolerate that kind of crap anymore.

Play:

More of the same please. Going out with friends like Edward, Malcolm, Enyao, Dave, etc, etc always make my day.

Paintball:

I hope to bring my team to greater heights. Hope to be a better captain for my teammates too.

Photography:

I hope to be able to bring my level and knowledge to greater heights so that one day i might be able to do this full time.

Love Life:

Still no inroads with this one, hopefully i can overcome my shyness and find the one and only in my life. ;)

Well, nevertheless if i manage to achieve what i have set for myself this year, as long as my friends, family and i are safe and happy, i guess nothing else matters.

Welcome to NeX ala Vegas Style?

Finally, after waiting for a few years, the MRT line and the mammoth Shopping Centre - NeX - is open. The SC wasn't officially open yet but there were already hordes of people there.

I took some time off my "busy" schedule (actually i had nothing to do cos Dave canceled a photography session and my backup plan of going to ECP to shoot some failed due to the weather) and walked over to the SC.

Its big and already about 70% of the stores are opened. It took me about 15-20 mins to finish walking the entire SC with exception to the top floor which houses the Sky Garden as well as the National Library. From the floor below it looked like there is a playground for kids too similar to that of Vivo City.

I liked the store name.

Kiddie chairs in the form of race cars and bikes... look there's Barney playing on the TV in front of the seats at Super Cuts!

Restaurants, Eateries and Fast Food Joints occupy most of the shop space - in addition to the ever present ladies wear/shoe shops. Surprisingly, there were many - too many IMHO - EyeWear and Salons under one roof. What's disappointing is that there were no major clothing brands - with exception to prolly Esprit (does Isetan count?), no major Sporting brands - only Sports Link and World of Sports. I didn't manage to see where the Cinemas' are at too.

In conclusion:

Good(s) and Bad(s) about NeX

The good(s) about NeX would be the choice of Eats, Party World KTV, the library, the no. of Cinema Halls, the (relatively cheap) parking - YES BIKES CAN GO IN TOO - Car rates are at $1.20 per hr, $0.60 per half hr thereafter - Sat, Sun and public holidays are an additional $0.10, bikes go in at a flat rate of $1.20 per entry, EVERYDAY.

The bad(s) about NeX would be the lack of Major brands (i'm guessing cos it's still a neighborhood shopping mall) and the lack of a dedicated Men's clothing store.

Hi peeps, i'm back!

Exams are finally over! Yay!

Got my bike back, like finally.

2 whole weeks of public transport really opened my eyes, the mrt is going everywhere now. However, problems like overcrowding, confusing interchanges and signs, waiting time still persist.

I'm really glad that i have my bike back, the horrible taxi fares incurred were really killing me. Add that to the frustration of having to check the MRT maps wherever i go really sucks. I'm more appreciative of the bike now, hope it doesn't give me any more problems.

I'm still taking alot of pictures, as some of you might see in my facebook account. Been walking all over town as well as other places. The longest distance will be from town to Telok Blangah. Kinda makes up for the lack of soccer sessions these 3 weeks.

The love for photography is slowly taking me in. Its even taking me away from my paintball.

Oh well, i only have time for one at a time. Nevertheless, the lack of paintball don't worry me too much as i wont see any paintball action prolly till November so i guess i can take a breather from it now.

The bike is now at Beng's, the old boy having ruptured a few its radiator and its hoses and is now having an operation to repair the defects. Due to the situation of being transport-less, i'm forced to take public transport again after so many years...

Hope i don't get lost in the crowds, the ever confusing MRT lines and the oh so many different numbers of buses...

I miss my bike.

Wow, its been 3 months since i blogged about anything. I guess i have been really "busy".

A big sorry to my readers (if any is left lol) for not updating this as much as i should have...

Here's some of the more significant things that transpired in these 3 months:

Job load has increased with the "subcon" of a "new" type of unit to my dept by another dept, therefore was quite busy.

After bringing my Dark Militia Paintball team to MPOC leg 4, we had an improved standing of 7th position after coming in mid table at 11th during the previous leg we took part in.

Dark Militia (Noob Version) came in as champions during the recently concluded Noob Wars held at Red Dynasty Paintball. I wasn't qualified to take part as i wasn't a noob no more - Participants should not have joined any local (SG) tourneys up until Noob Wars - therefore i volunteered to take photos of the event with my D90.

I have changed bike. Yes, again, thanks for the comments. Was looking to downgrade but upgraded instead as the price was pretty close to what my budget was, soooo... I did the "Mistake". However, i'm pretty much enjoying the ride so i guess i'm happy with my mistake! Still, i do miss the ole GSXR for the speed and agility - the "new" bike is a mammoth! LoL!

My friend Candy Quek (Hello Kitty Rider) passed away on 28th June 2010 while riding her bike to work. Was totally shocked when i got the news that she was "no more"... My heart still aches at the sad way such a young, pretty and friendly gal passed.

RIP Dear Candy.

Well thats about all for this morning, going back to to work after 2 days - 1 and a half days MC for pain in the shoulder blade, actually - seems like.. =)

Yeah i do stand by my motto:

Life is short, make it shorter!

But please, do not misinterpret my words;

It means to enjoy your life to the max, even if it means to make shorter due to doing dangerous (but fun things like) extreme sports - like my Friend and BMT mate Jeremy Goh, who passed away after his boat collapsed after a Dragon Boat Race abroad. Do what u love, make your life count, don't regret while walking towards the light at the end of the tunnel or while lying down taking your last breath, that u did not do this, u did not do that.

Read this article about this Poly Girl, whom took her own life recently due to a broken relationship.

Kinda reminds me of my BMT mate, who also took his own life for the same reason.

There is no reason, to take your own life.

Don't be selfish, don't be stupid.

Think of your parents, your friends, your loved ones.

Who will take care of your parents when u are gone? Do they need to suffer the anguish just because u decided to end yours?

Even if u are beat down, abandoned by the one u love, do u really want to grant their evil wish to put u down? For me, living well is the best revenge. Show them that u can be just as happy, if not happier, without them.

Think about it before u do anything silly.

Been busy (lazy too) as of late, thus the no update.

Lemmie wish yall first, a very happy Good Friday!

Was busy training with the (Paintball) team for MPOC which would be held in KL on the 17th-18th of April, not to mention practicing my newest (expensive) hobby - Photography.

Busted my bonus (huge part of it) on a D90, realising my dream of having a DSLR ever since i got my first digital camera (see my FB photos and you know what i mean).

Anyways, tml will be early Qing Ming for my family, so tomb sweeping tml, will prolly bring the d90 for some exercise though i think i should not be taking pictures there lol...

Ehhh 12+ am liaos... guess i better get to sleep. gotta wake up at 4am!

Its been busy as usual, work, school, plus i have been busy painting my room, again, yes. It has been deemed too dark, too emo (chuckles). Therefore i'm changing it to brighter colors.

Time, is now, something that i have very little of, in terms of studying time and shopping time for CNY.

CNY is 2 weeks away, exams are 3 weeks away.

Damn.

And i'm only free on weekends due to school and work.

Double damn.

So far only bought a pair of jeans... no tops just as yet... hopefully i can find more time to do my things.

Dang... didn't realise i havent been posting anything for so long...

been a very stressful month for me, work and studies wise, work is not really going smoothly as there are many hiccups prolly as a direct result of not having enuff experience with the unit as well as other factors.

School after work is not helping either. I realised that ever since i started school, i have not been getting much rest as i would have dream filled sleep. Waking up in the morning, i would not feel refreshed but feel more tired instead. There would never seem to be a night which i do not have dreams...

Perhaps thats the reason i'm so emo these days... feel no support, stressed and burned out.

No paintball and no soccer sessions didn't help much too.

Hope i'm not falling apart lol.

Can only hope for the best la ah?

This is my reflections for 2009

Paintball

Team Dark Militia

When we participated in paintball in some way or another, towards the end of last year, we would have never thought that we would be gathered like lost souls last minute to form a team for SPNS09... Through the combined efforts of BBen, SBen, Jane and Grant, we formed a team and fought our way onto the podium for the second runner's up spot at RD (Leg 1).

Come Leg 2 we were thrown into uncertainty as RD and PBAS took SPNS to a greater stage by taking the competition out into the heartlands. New bunkers, extra big spaces meant more running, more specific tactics, more places to watch out for. It took a toll on all of us as it showed during the competition - Weijun had to leave before quarterfinals due to illness, Cavin has a massive fever (got tonsillitis and MC-ed for 2 weeks), Rashid had a banged-up shoulder and was unable to play. The other team members were also suffering from fatigue from playing so much, so fast. All these factors combined to a lower placing than Leg 1. We fought to a gritty 4th placing in Leg 2.

RD and PBAS outdone themselves by securing new bunkers as well as the new location of the scenic West Coast Park. It almost didn't happen though, as the location was dependent on the number of teams joining Leg 3. Luckily for the paintballing community it did happen, and we were treated to seabreeze while playing paintball, a la Huntington Beach? Hahaha! We DMs were quite prepared for it although we were quite unsure if we wanted to join, as a few members are already playing in D3, some were thinking of giving paintball and their wallets a rest. We finally decided to make it a good one for what might be our last Singaporean PB competition. We are glad that we did, as we screamed and fought our hearts out with only 6 players and came home with a winner's medal!

We hope to emulate the success of one of our friendly rivals, the Singapore Contract Killers (runnner's up in D4 world Cup Asia) and make a name for ourselves by crossing over to Malaysia (either D4 or D3 still remains to be seen).

Work

Its been quite a ok year for me at work, no hiccups and getting promoted to Senior Tech 3. Hope it goes well for me, next year aim for Tech 2!

Studies

Its going well, only that i failed Engineering Maths and would have to retake them this sem, and that Applied Mechanics is not a easy subject to comprehend as well. Hopefully i can clear both of them with one shot.

Love

Still no one just as yet, many have asked me to just anyhow find one and "chiam see tong" (no not the politician, but the meaning - as a stop-gap measure) as well as to "gain experience". Well in a way its true that i am prolly the least experienced in the ways of love but i believe it will come naturally from the heart and that someone will appreciate it. Saying that, i prolly need to find more activities which puts me in touch with more girls in order to maximise the chances of me meeting "The One" (no not Kiko!!). Bros, Sisters and friends. U peeps know what to do! Bring more gerls out! Can be friends even if does not suit me! Good way to widen my social circle too!

"El Direcktor" is currently busy trying to rush out a video project for a couple whos gonna have their ROM in December. Using a program he has never used before is proving quite difficult, however, he is quite sure he can do it...

SPNS 2009 Leg 3 Champions

YESSSS~

After our debut earlier in the year where we got 3rd in leg 1, we got 4th in leg 2, now, we are champions of leg 3. It has been an extraordinary experience which i had enjoyed immensely.

I think we proved ourselves today, to our detractors/doubters, that we can win.

I'll enjoy the moment, i think we've earned it.

Seeing doubles. A sign?

Been seeing doubles this two days.

I think somethings gonna happen.

Think its a sign.

First off i see a car with the number plate 8852 below bear's place on friday evening after work. We were going to Bikeworks for awhile to leave bear's ST there for the surveyor to take a look regarding the claim bear made against the driver who bonked his ass the last time.

Oh the way there i saw Nick's car, so i just stopped right beside and tried to peep in the tinted windows. Turns out that it was Nick's friend who was driving the car. When we reached Bikeworks, i saw a bike with the exact same number 8852.

After leaving Bikeworks, me and bear went to Tampines 800+ to eat Speckies (western food) but it was not open hence we settled for Korean instead. Then, on the way back, I saw Nick riding his SP while waiting for the green light at a X-Junction. Though its not technically seeing double of him but it should count.

Met Bear again at Bikeworks on sat afternoon, after he took his bike we went to DGapz for a bikewash. It was there when i saw Her, my first secondary school crush, not gonna name her here sorry to those who are curious, not alot of ppl know, so dun plan of letting more ppl in on this. She was with a guy on a S4, dunno if she recognized me when our eyes crossed...

Had some dinner after that and went to meet Edward, Enyao, Seng & GF, Malcolm for a Prawning session. Had a good time prawning, we rented 3 rods and shared the prawning time amongst ourselves, all of us got catches but the winner at the session has got to be Seng's GF - Fion. She was the man - erm... woman, she got the most catch and did most of the removal of the hook from the prawns.

Went to Bishan for supper at one of the KPT there, thats when i saw Her, again. Caught her eye again, but still nowhere knowing if she recognized me. Oh well. Had a blast finishing off the prawns though.

While i was writing this, i checked the results for yesterday's 4D and was not really surprised when i saw my bike number at the first prize slot.

I did not buy FYI, and the number was jumbled - 5258.

Then i saw that the same numbers opened in the starter slot on 4th oct - albeit jumbled up again - 2855.

NOT ANOTHER DOUBLE???????

Its been a boring but good weekend!

Finished the last of the CF-ing of the bike (for now), fixed it on after work on friday.

Totally enjoyed the soccer session afterwards, ran alot(more), had a slice of cheese cake double off as a birthday cake at MacDonald's after the soccer session. Dave and peeps gave me a pair of Manchester United shorts, many thanks to them! Thanks for paying for my soccer and meal, Kenneth!

Saturday was spent sleeping, met up with Ervin n Weiting for dinner at Geylang Serai Makan Place, caught the boring but productive game of Man Utd VS Stoke, Man Utd won, naturally, wearing down a stubborn Stoke defence to win 2-nil. Giggs really made an impact when he came on after half time.

Makan was on Ervin, so many thanks to him too! Went to dam afterwards to meet Garfield Tong & Bear, saw Daniel, Jeremy and JieXuan there. Witnessed a very funny spectacle while getting drinks at Yishun SPC, a young lady and her friend driving a Ah Beng Honda Stream (P-PLATE!) coming into pump petrol and did not know where the switch to open the fuel cap was, asking the pump attendant uncle to help them see. In the end, one of us went over to help and got it immediately. When we saw the female driver, she was a hot young thing with very short shorts with nicely shaped buns - CHAR SHAO BAO~!- ehem... opps, heh. It certainly deserved more than a second look although i was more inclined to laugh at her (right.) then to ogle at her buns... =X

Got caught in some rain when we went back, it rained only like for 50 meters before it stopped.. guess i was getting retribution for laughing at people...

Slept till sunday afternoon and went to Kim's housewarming. His house was quite small, i guess its the way HDB builds them now, i guess i would want to save more to get a older resale flat, i do like my space to be big...

Small Aunt commented i was getting slimmer... though i would say its bcos she havent saw me for like a few months already... HAPPY! - More like jumping for joy, on the inside of cos...

Went home for awhile for some RE5 before going to Kuya Idz's open house. It was small but i did think it was very nicely furnished! Upz for Idz's mums flower arrangements... those look professional!

Its 4am in the morning, the reason i'm not sleeping is because i'm doing night shift this week, its to condition myself to sleep later so as not to get tired too early towards the end of the shift - i end work at 2am.

It will be the second last night shift i will be able to do this year as school will be starting soon, 19 Oct to be exact. I will be reverting back to morning shift all the way till school holidays start again.

Looking forward to next - oops i mean this weekend... driving up Genting with the peeps - Edward, Malcom, Enyao as well as the gals... Its gonna be gooooooooddddd~~~!

ZZZ... getting lazy again and younger at that... not gonna celebrate though, its just another day to me.

Pretty much nothing worth mentioning, been busy CFing the bike though, will post pics soon.

School's gonna start soon, its gonna get more hectic soon, with 4 days worth of school per week, however its only 3 examinable subjects as one of them is Autocad 3D which i chose as an elective.

Enjoying my night shifts though it has made a big dent on my weightloss program hehehe... daily suppers with my colleague and good friend, the Kuya Idz. Its hard not to want to eat as after a hard day's work, you're bound to feel hungry and i can't get to sleep with gastric now can i?

Gonna go play soccer at the Cage soon, hope for a good runout!

After my accident, alot of people started asking me, how, still want to ride motorcycle anot?

Alot of people, from my parents, to my friends, my GP, even, my NP Lecturer.

The answer is yes.

Riding is my passion.

No one can take that away from me.

Sure, i do want to get a car.

Heck, i can afford to support a normal car - but the bike would have to go of course, i'm not a ASK. I wish i had a car when its raining, or after playing soccer or when i'm on the way to, or after playing paintball.

Cars are convienent, less dangerous, protected from the weather, but, nothing beats the feeling of fast acceleration, that wind blowing in your face, basically the freedom of, going everywhere and anywhere u like.

I'm a person who do not like to wait. I like my things to come fast and smooth.

I like to sleep in and still get to work on time.

I love the knowledge that i can be on time even though i'm taking the PIE during rush hour.

Some people might think i'm stupid.

Do so dangerous thing for what, broken bones, abrasions, pain, suffering, potential lost of life. Might as well just be a good boy, save the money, do decent work, take public, live a safe life like everyone else.

The problem is, i don't want to be JUST anyone else.

I want to be me. I am ME.

I want to have LIVED, instead of, and i qoute my cousin Cavin on this - " tiptoe-ing through life, just to find my way safely to Death."

Thats why i'm trying to try as much things as i can.

Going on trips, paintballing, heck, i'm going for wakeboarding come September with my colleagues.

Scuba Diving is prolly next if i can find the money for it.

To those people who just want to live a simple life, please by all means, go ahead. Do not think poorly of others who want to truely LIVE sometime at some point of their lives.

This is my life.

I choose how i want to live it.

If u have listened to Bon Jovi's Its My Life, u will notice one part of the lyrics goes like this - "Its my life, its now or never, i ain't gonna live forever"

I don't want to look back at my life when i am old and regret not to have lived my life on the edge, when my only bit of excitement comes from playing sudoku... Now how sad is that?

I'm sure many of you have, already heard what had happned to me last weekend, for those who have not, i had an accident while having a track session at Pasir Gudang.

I'm guessing i got abit too excited about getting faster with each lap i make, and i began pushing over my limit, so much so that my front gave way at turn 1.

I'm pretty much ok, save for multiple abrasions to my right knee, hip, right stomach, and the wallet.... T_T

The damage - close to 1k including respray.

In addition to that, the roadtax insurance for both bikes were due. Shiok. Now super leong...

Many thanks to the guys (Ervin, Louis) that helped patch up the bike for me to ride back, the gal (XX) who was supposed to escort me back but somehow lead me go wrong way, then halfway go chase BMW, making me chase her also, and to Nick and XX for bringing me to the hospital then waited for me while i was having treatment, and then sending me back home after that. Thanks to Dave for lending me money upfront to pay my medical bills as the bulk of my money was in the forbidden account. Thanks Dave, Kai and Alice for visiting and bringing me "provisions"!

To those who expressed your concern, i thank you all. You guys are great.

July 19 was Pegs' birthday, she didn't feel like celebrating it so...

That was it.

But was it?

No.

Certainly not in my book.

Was planning to surprise her on my own initially, but was that gonna be it?

Nope.

Yizhou contacted me on thursday to see if i wanted in for the surprise hes planning.

Guess not.

There was quite a few names mentioned, Ita, Vicky (snigger), Chris(Italy), Charlize(spelt correctly?), but in the end there was only me, Yizhou and Charlize. On friday, Yizhou had some bad news. Pegs was meeting Sam on sunday. The plan was still on though, just that there was no confirmed meeting place. I worked, studied, and was freaking tired when the duo of Yizhou and Pegs called me to ask me out for a movie. I agreed. Watched The haunting in Connecticut, sent pegs back and went home. Almost got caught while discussing with Yizhou the finer details of the surprise.

Saturday came and went, Sunday came and i headed off to HG to pick up the flowers from the florist. Watched some drift and go-cart action at what used to be the old bus terminal before going home. Napped awhile before going off to meet Yizhou and Charlize below Pegs' house.

I was like, since Pegs was only prolly expecting Yizhou, we should plan a real surprise. Since we're at the playground, i made Yizhou sit somewhere where Pegs could easily see him and not notice me and Charlize who were hiding in the playhouse right smack in the middle of the playground. The plan was for Yizhou to meet Pegs, say some stuff and present her with the cake. He had to light up the candles and me and Charlize would pop up singing the birthday song. Well, the plan worked without a hitch except that Yizhou prolly had some trouble lighting up all the candles. LoL.

Took loads pictures with the presents and the birthday gal.

Went up to her house to eat the Mango Cake that Yizhou bought, and at the same time admiring the birthday gal's new makeover of her room. Decided to have some celebratory prata over at Evans road before heading back as Charlize was tired and i had work and studies the very next day.

A very happy weekend

Yo.

Had a very enjoyable weekend this week although i had to cancel my long awaited track session due to the big rain in the morning in SG and PG. Played soccer at The Cage in the afternoon and met up with Ervin, his GF, Nick and Xiao Xiao @ Potong Pasir in the evening. Had a very nice Zhi Char dinner at the nearby coffeeshop.

We were making plans to go somewhere when it rained heavily. I took the first chance i've got to rush back home (5 mins away) and Nick and XX came to my place to pick me up in their car before we proceeded to our usual haunt @ Cine Xing Wang. Loads of people then arrived to look for us - Michael, Roland, Sho, Matthew, Duck, Duck GF, JH - even the newly commissioned Mountaineers, Mr Davie Chai and GF. Talked alot of cock - XX promised to intro her friend to me (yay!) - before going down to YD to some seabreeze. Sat there until like 4+ before we decided to head for home, Nick and XX were meeting their friends to go to Desaru at 9.45am and i was to meet Grant and Co for Paintball Training in Malaysia at 9am.

Slept at 5am, woke up at 7, headed to Grant's house to park the bike before taking his car and picking everyone else up. Rashid could not make it due to work, so we picked up David instead. Had a fab training session, using e-markers provided by Grant on various drills, including a couple of skirmishes against one of the local teams. We lost the first one but won the second one. Got "killed" on both ocassions lol. Playing with E-markers was a great experience, would prolly now consider going into d4 or even d3, provided we can get sponsorship or we can fork out the moola to get the markers. Returned home in time for dinner with the parents. Couldn't sleep until after 1am... Die.

Woke up at 6am, turned off the alarm, and fell right back to sleep. Was almost 8 when i woke. Took halfday. Went back to sleep, Someone was having renovations nearby... drifted in and out of sleep, the next thing i know, it was 12+ Sheeet. Took rest of the day off. Could not sleep anymore so watched movies until it was time for dinner and left for school after that.

So fast and its already friday morning. Its now 2am and i can't get to sleep. Just WTF ding dongs am i thinking about? Zzzzz... My eyes are red and i've got school tml. Boring DC Circuits. I hope those new units come in tml to allow the time to past faster.

Sup.

Its been a boring and stressful few weeks, workload has been spiraling upwards and downwards so much that i have experienced stress, relief and boredom all in a period of a few weeks. Add on the stresses of school common tests...

Argh.

Have not been getting any paintball these days, missed soccer last week so there hasn't been any chance to have a fun workout and sweat.

Things aren't all stressed though, the paintball's coming back, might have training in malaysia this sunday, looking forward to paint-ing (somebody).

The planned track session is a go for saturday, less rainy weather which we have been seeing so much nowadays. Added my new Olins damper as well as had my suspension set. Hopefully can put my virgin Power Ones (tyres) to good use.

Heard Alyce buanged at PG yesterday, hope she gets well soon!

Finally going on a short holiday, gonna be riding up to Cameron Highlands on the last weekend of july, which promises to be a fun and exciting ride, something which i have not done in awhile, so i'm damn looking forward to it. 40km's worth of corners, now, who won't look forward to that! If only i have a video camera to tape down the adventure... The digital camera's busted so i guess its gonna have to stay at home. Will some kind soul lend me his or hers? I promise to take good care of it! Going for the holiday would prolly mean that i would miss the class gathering which is set for that weekend. Sorry guys! Next year perhaps!

Relieved to find out that i have cleared the Maths and Materials papers, with DC Circuits just taken last week, its 2 down, one to go. Come on! GIMMIE A PASS! Chose my elective for next sem which would (hopefully) be 3D AutoCAD which one of my classmate will be taking with me (hopefully)

The lovelife, well, it seems tat i'm really getting left behind, Dave has a GF now (sip sip), Bear's going out with someone quite frequently (DAILY? WOW!), me, still alone, but not (THAT) despo though (YET, LOL~!), patiently looking. Both the above mentioned has promised help should they be able to provide it, i sincerely thank them, its good to have them as friends, even Marcus is trying to (sorta) help so "atas" (upz) for him too.

Been to busy(lazy) to blog, every weekend is packed to the brim. Its time to finally take a break, and recap.

Aftermath of SPNS

SPNS was fun, with the field being brought outside of the paintball field over at RD for the first time in paintball history in Singapore. Almost every team was strengthened with players old and new, and i believe this is first time since the inception of SPNS that there are so many new teams joining, Rebels r Us, Seekers - Strike & Destroy, ARES, Five-O, Wargh!Cooks (though formerly known as Wargh!Nuts so they are not new, just new name nia =P), etc, etc.

Everyones' skills seemed to have improved by alot since the last leg, even the newbies are not to be underestimated, esp. the two seeker teams which have been training really hard, with alot of heart! Not that we will underestimate them, as we ourselves have had a surprise showing at SPNS Leg 1, where we (Team Dark Militia) came in 2nd runners up. A team which had never played/trained together @ full strength, a group of lost souls, newbies who have only joined the sport for less than 3-4 months, who were banded together, perhaps just to so called make up the numbers, surprised quite alot of the more established teams to come in 3rd.

This leg, although we only came in 4th, with just medals to show for our efforts, i'm still very darn proud of my team-mates, who fought on even though we lost one of our front players - Weijun - to sickness halfway through qualifying. We would then lose cavin and rashid later on during the finals due to Tonsillitis and shoulder injury respectively. Cavin had to soldier on with the high fever as rashid could not carry his marker anymore. That pretty much left us with four fit players in a five man tourney, and the lineup kinda picked itself without any chance of resting as we progressed until the semis and 3rd/4th playoff. I myself developed a big headache due to the heat and fatigue, and that showed when i collapsed on the team ground sheet after we finished all our games, with a ice pack to my head...

I guess cavin was the worst hit of us all, down with Tonsillitis meant a whole week of MC. Still i believe this leg of SPNS will only serve to inspire us to get better and achieve a higher position in the next leg.

After Dave abandoned me for his mum (and quite rightly so i might add), Michael came to my rescue and asked me out for dinner. We ended up meeting Marcus and Carol with Roland and Matthew in tow. Destination was Bugis and Fish & Co was the makan place. Yummm... Good food 2 weekends in a row.

Things are starting to heat up for me, as the common tests for the modules i'm taking are coming up next week. Well at least 2 of them are, the EVIL Engineering Mathematics and the very info(not to mention boredom) intensive Engineering Materials and Processes. The common test for Principles of DC Circuits is a further 2 weeks back, so that should not be a problem...

Hi peeps,

as most of you might know, i'm now very into paintball!

I have a paintball team and we are called Dark Militia.

We will be taking part in the one and only paintball league in Singapore (for now), the SPNS - Singapore Paintball Novice Series - 2009 on 17th May, Sunday (TOMORROW!). Please come and support me and my team if u have the time or come down and check out how competitive paintball is played. Definitely an exciting and adrenaline pumping event not to be missed!

For Leg 2 of SPNS, we will taking competition paintball outside the paintball field for the very first time. The event will be held at Pasir Ris Park, Native Lawn, accessible by Car Park C.

A YOUTH with low IQ has been arrested by police after flying into a rage at a Meet-the-People Session (MPS), upset at what he felt was his MP's cold-shoulder treatment of his mother's financial plight.

PROBLEMS: The mother hasn't worked since she broke her wrsit after falling while cleaning a fan. Her son suffers from thalassemia, a blood disorder that leaves him weak and sickly.

The 17-year-old boy hoisted an aluminium foldable chair over his head and slammed it against a glass door seconds after walking out of MP Cynthia Phua's Serangoon North office with his mother.

The boy, who has been released on bail, has been told to report back to the police on 12 May, where he may be charged with committing a rash act.

The offence carries a jail term of up to six months and a fine of up to $2,500.

The youth cannot be named because of impending court proceedings.

This is the third incident in recent months involving MPs and their constituents.

The boy and his mother, 53, are familiar faces to the grassroots volunteers at the MPS.

The unwed mother with Primary 6 education gets by on a $400 monthly salary as a part-time cleaner.

He attended a special school and suffers from thalassemia, a blood disorder that renders him weak and sickly.

The mother said that things went from bad to worse in November 2004 when the boy's father disappeared and stopped paying the $300 monthly maintenance due to her.

As a result, she visited the MPS about once a month for the past few years to request for various kinds of financial aid.

FORGIVE ME:

Two days ago, the mother returned to the MPs alone and with a handwritten letter of apology from her son.

January this year saw a crisis unfold in their lives, when the mother broke her wrist after falling off a chair while cleaning a fan. She hasn't worked since.

She said the HDB was then in the middle of repossessing her flat and giving her a rental unit, but she was unable to pay the $138 in rental deposit and stamp duty.

So last Monday, she went to the office at Block 125, Serangoon North Ave 1, where MP Lim Hwee Hua holds her MPS, hoping to have her sign an appeal letter for HDB.

But that day, Mrs Lim, who is also a minister in the Prime Minister's Office, was abroad. Fellow Aljunied GRC MP Cynthia Phua stood in for her.

The mother's request was granted - Madam Phua signed the letter - but mother and son left fuming, claiming that Madam Phua had put them down.

She claimed that shortly after they had entered the office, Madam Phua asked her son a series of questions:

'She asked him, 'Who are you? What are you doing? Why aren't you working?' she claimed.

The mother said she wanted to explain her son's condition, but wasn't given a chance.

'I felt like we were being scolded,' she said.

The meeting ended after two or three minutes, she said.

As they were walking out, the son snapped.

His outburst with the chair - two blows against the glass door, which didn't break - was 'strong enough to get someone killed', said the Serangoon PAP branch secretary, Mr Poon Mun Wai.

As grassroots volunteers scrambled to calm down the teenager, his mother begged a neighbour to whisk him home immediately.

Later that night, the police arrived at their flat and arrested him. He was released on bail at about 1am.

When contacted, Madam Phua contradicted the mother's version of events, saying she felt that their conversation 'went well'.

She said: 'Like any normal case at MPS, I have to try to understand the case first of all...

'I had to ask some pointed questions about his employment status to understand the root cause of the problem, so that I can be more effective in helping them.'

During the one week after the incident, the mother pondered what to do.

She got her son to shave off his shoulder-length orange-dyed hair to get rid of bad luck.

For days, she said, he couldn't find the courage to face himself in the mirror. He also decided to put on hold a long-time dream to audition for Singapore Idol.

Two days ago, she returned to the MPS again alone and clutching a handwritten letter of apology from her son.

'Please fodgive me for what I dad I am sinelely truely I'm sorry (sic),' the teenager had written in big, neat handwriting.

The apology, however, was not acceptable to Mrs Lim, who was back chairing the MPS after returning from abroad.

'I made it very clear to (the mother) that this is unacceptable behaviour. It is not justifiable in any circumstance. There's no excuse to be violent,' Mrs Lim told The New Paper.

She also explained that she was not in a position to excuse or forgive the boy.

'I was not present and the police are investigating into the matter. I believe the police will take into consideration the mitigating factors,' said Mrs Lim.

'From what I understand, Madam Phua was being very motherly and very helpful inside the room with them.'

Mrs Lim's response surprised the mother, who had spoken fondly of her throughout the interview with The New Paper just a day before.

She said: 'I know what my son did was wrong. But how can I not defend him? He is my son, he is not well and he has a problem with his temper.

'I don't want him to go to jail and have his future ruined.'

Come on la, Mdm Phua and Mrs Lim, the boy has already apologised. Be more forgiving abit, the mother is helpless, jobless, penniless, the son is down with a blood disorder, somemore low IQ, you still want to send him to jail and make his mother sonless? Have some compassion la. Your government is promoting a gracious society, take the lead and show some graciousness. Let the boy off with a warning.

I'm surprised that MPs are so unforgiving. Sure, there was the unfortunate incident of the mad-man burning the MP alive, no one wanted that, no one in their right mind would go and do that! Look, the kid lost his head, he has low IQ. He didn't touch anyone. No one was hurt. The door wasn't even broken. Just, let it go. Show us your "graciousness". If you send him to jail now, he might just come back and do worse. Let him off now, with the right help he might become a useful person next time, knowing that how gracious and caring people can be. You might just save a few more votes for your government in the next GE.

Hope both of you change your minds and let the boy go.

Busy, busy weekend

Its been a busy weekend for me, studying, gaming, paintballing.

Did a half day OT on friday (replacement holiday for Vesak day).

Played Left 4 Dead with the usual co after school on friday night.

Met Cavin's GF and Lydia (the gang's friend) for the first time.

Was very disappointed that Cavin refused to go for paintball training in JB the next day after the game. I'm beginning to question his commitment for the team... I'm esp. disappointed as Grant had to ask Julya to take Chak's car instead so as to accommodate us in his car and Cavin simply didn't bother. Could see the disappointment in Grant's eyes when we told him he wasn't coming.

Slept at 4, woke up at 7, met Vince, popped over to Grant's place to park the bikes there. Picked up Bryan (spelt correctly?) at Tiong Bahru and went ahead to go to the SX paintball field in Austin Hills, JB. The place is quite big and nicely landscaped as it was a golf resort? The field is located just behind the main building.

The field is quite big, bigger than the SB field in RD. That pretty much gave me and Vince an idea how much different it is gonna be at SPNS leg 2 with the bigger field and all. Did some drills and had a couple of minor skirmishes before we had a rest to eat and wait for the field to replenish some paint.

Me and Vince went to the resort cafe to have our lunch after we became hungry after the adrenaline rush wore off while waiting for the paint to arrive. The food there are quite expensive and were prolly not worth the price at all. Vince had Penang fried kuey tiao and i had Hokkien mee. Drinks was Watermelon juice for Vince and 100+ for me. The bill came up to be a hefty 40+ ringgit. Oh well. At least the paint was cheap. 6 peeps paid about 40 SGD each for 2 boxes of paint! Its so cheap, its freaky! Advice after drills was given by some peeps from the teams who were playing Div 2 in the Malaysian Leagues. Great stuff. Would definitely want to go there again to train. Now abit itchy for E-Markers already... LOL! Left the place at 4 feeling all tired and well worked out. Really wished my whole team was there though... it was good practice.

We got home around 6. Went out with the parents for a "Mothers day" family dinner straight. I napped for a couple of hours when i got home before going to Cineleisure to meet Dave and Ervin. La kopi-ed at Xin Wang Cafe again and left to meet Louis and the others at Yishun Dam. It rained just as we were nearing Yio Chu Kang and we hid under the bridge. Left for dam after the rain let off abit only to find that the gang has left for jalan kayu. Popped over to Jalan Kayu for some tea and then left for dam again. Slacked there until about 5+ and quickly left after the lightning began to intensify. Wacked all the way home, rained when i was less than 2 clicks away from home. Got wet, again. ZZzz

Selpt until 12, going to Jess house later for Tai gong's death anniversary, gonna do my tutorial as well as some studying there as i'm having a maths quiz tomorrow...

Shagged and Left 4 Dead

Saturday was the first time i played Left 4 Dead.

IT ISH FUN!

Damn fun.

Met cuzzies: Kenneth (and Maggie), Cavin as well as friends: Eric, Elaine(?) Ivan for the L4D session. Was in a team with Ken, Mag, Cav and me while the others made up the others + a computer character. The game is a first person shooter and is set like Resident Evil where everyone turns into zombies and survivors have to make it out of the city.

It was the first time me (LAN and as infected) and Cav played the game. Everyone has a go at being the survivors as well as the infected. The survivors uses guns and the infected uses their bare hands and teeth. Before u put off the infected, they do have special abilities which allow them to gain an advantage when you have the right tactics.

Before the game was dinner with ken and mag, we caught cav's new gf after he refused to have dinner with us but ate with her instead opposite his place. We caught them at the carpark after we went over (his place is just opposite mine) to pick him up as we had finished our dinner earlier.

We finished around 1.30am and left for home as Mag had a flight at 7am. Was gonna go out to meet dave but it rained hard. So its back to the compy for some Need for Speed and BED!

Met my DM peeps for some training/skirmish with the new team in town - The two teams of the Seeker Family, Destroy & Strike. The Seekers are very committed, esp their captain, who could be heard during the game, shouting at his team to attack. Very friendly and down to earth peeps too.

There was only time to help ref a few games and skirmish with the Seekers once before everyone had to go, we won that one with me bunkering the last player in the snake who was getting pumped full of paint from all sides.

Though we had only a couple of games, we identified a couple of things to work on, one is our communication as well as the various codes during the game.

With SPNS LEG 2 coming up fast and furious (MAY 17 @ Pasir Ris Park Near Carpark C - PLS COME AND SUPPORT MY TEAM!!!), we need to squeeze in as much training as we can, hopefully next week we can go JB to train, cheaper paint as well as bigger fields.

Went home to rest for awhile before proceeding to play soccer with the usual peeps. Didn't run as much, prolly due to the exertions in the morning. Scored quite a few though, the most spectacular of which was a first time left foot volley.

There were quite a few injuries suffered, i too got hit in the face by the ball, if i never remembered wrongly it was Marcus. I'm considered lucky though, some got kicked in the shin, ball hitting the privates, chest, stepped on the foot, etc, etc.

After soccer, me and Dave went down to Jalan Kayu for dinner. Both of us were so shagged that we left immediately for home to rest. In fact, i was so tired that i forgot the fact that i left my boots at the court. Luckily Nick kept it for me and i will be getting it from him tml.

Thats about all that what happened last weekend. Oh yeah, i was like so, so tired, that i had to take a halfday off work as i couldn't wake up in time, + it rained hard this morning. A halfday leave turned into a full day leave as i forgot to turn on my alarm and i slept until 12+pm. What a waste of precious leave... =/

Got a maths quiz next week. Wish me luck!

Ehhheh.

Guess i scared a few peeps about my last post.

Just felt shitty last morning after i came home nuahing at Xing Wang HK Cafe @ cineleisure. Wrote a inspiring note to myself. Got too inspired that i immediately changed and went for a run before i went to work (OT).

The run was too fast, too furious. Going for a high intensity run without proper warm up and no sleep for the past 24 hours was stupid. I ended up completing 2 laps of high intensity run/sprint and going straight home. In the end i broke into cold sweat, felt faint and had problems bringing my heartbeat down.

Tot that i was gonna die like those people who just passed away while running. SERIOUSLY. At first i tot i was low on blood sugar so i gulped down some apple juice. When that didn't help i was like ah fuck it, i'll just go to sleep. If its gonna end like this its gonna end like this. Theres no escape.

Luckily i felt better when i woke up at 12pm. Needless to say i did not go for OT but i was honestly quite relieved that i'm ok. No more intense exercise while having less that 7 hours of sleep beforehand liao.

Met up with Dave, Marcus, Roland and Michael to go Malaysia for a eat cum CSS (Clear Carbon Session) at night. Marcus had a slight incident in which his back tyre got punctured immediately after exiting the Malaysian toll booths. We worked furiously (erm actually Michael - our RSM (Road Side Mechanic) - did) to fix the tyre for an hour before we could resume our journey. The return trip was normal with us helping our bikes clear their "lungs".

Roland and Michael went home as they got work today while Dave, Marcus and me went to our new "joint" to nuah and view scenery. The Xin Wang HK Cafe at Cineleisure. Talked alot of cock, the ones guys always talk about, job, army, gals, certain other disgusting things that still disgusts me even now (and i dun get disgusted that easily) while i am typing out this post now.

OH YEAH AND ONE OF THE WAITRESSES AT THE HK CAFE IS QUITE CUTE. LIKE HER SMILE. FOUND OUT THAT SHE IS AN INDONESIAN CHINESE AND THAT SHES YOUNGER THAN SHE LOOKS... Hmmmm...

Engineering Mathematics A

The most dreaded module of all, MATHS!

Did not go well at first, as i left my timetable at work. I thought i was in the same class as Dixon (my colleague who happened to apply for the same course as me) therefore i went to (Tutorial) class with him. There was a notice stating that the tutorial was canceled and we were to proceed to another building at 7pm. Went for dinner with Dixon.

Situation 1:
When we reached the classroom at 7, there was no one there. We grabbed seats and waited. We found out that we were supposed to have a maths proficiency test immediately. DAMN.

Situation 2:
I left the room a while later to relieve myself. When i came back, the class was full and my seat was taken. Evidently i was supposed to be in another class but i did not know which. Unfortunately neither did the lecturer. After a series of "dunnos" the lecturer finally directed me to find the coordinator in other class. When i found him, he too, "dunno" but immediately asked me to find a seat next door and just do the test. DOUBLE DAMN.

Situation 3:
The maths test was horrible. I found that i have forgotten almost every single maths formula i have learnt before. Do abit, skip, do abit, skip. DAMN, I SUCK. LOL!

Met up with Dixon after the test, went to lecture after that, prayed hard that i was in the right lecture hall. My answers were answered by whoever was out there watching for me as i saw my name in the register that was being passed around.

The good thing was, the maths knowledge is all slowly coming back. We studied functions and simultaneous equations. Its slowly going good... now i need to get a calculator...

Engineering Materials and Processes

Made sure i took my timetable with me this time.

Met Jess (another colleague) at the Makan Place (a nicely decorated canteen operated by KouFu) while having dinner before class.

Went to class. Same thing, different tutorial class from Dixon. Some of the things taught sounded very familiar to me, Ferrous Metals, Non-Ferrous Metals, Composites... Lecturer allows us to be late and sends us home early!

Principles of DC Circuits

Studied S.I. Units and prefixes. Had to convert values at certain prefixes to other prefixes, brief intro to how current is transmitted. Pretty easy stuff so far.

So far so good, except for the first day when everything was a blur, by the second class i have gotten myself settled in as well as gotten my lappy set to tune into NP's wireless network (which explains why i was online on thursday night. Was viewing slides from the lecturer which can be downloaded online). Hope to complete my diploma - this time - with no problems! (=/)

8+pm: Freaked out on the dark, wet and curvy roads of Genting.

2+am: Stopped at the R&R before Pagoh. Got ear plugs from Bear as i was going deaf.

2.30am: Reached Pagoh.

4am: Reached Gelang Patah.

5.30am: Reached Bear's house. Bjorn already went missing.

Played soccer after work with the peeps. Marcus and Carol came down and joined us for the very first time! Carol wasted no time getting out her camera and started snapping away after our game. We then proceeded to restore the fats that we've lost at the newly renovated KKFC. The decor was nice but there was no more free drink refills... So sad.

Took a day off to settle some stuffs as well as to go and apply for my new passport. The old one was dirty, spoilt and running out of pages. Watched Paul Bart, Mall Cop with Pegs (I treated her to watch the movie with me -again- and she treated me to a nachos combo in return) at night. The movie was quite funny, although i didn't really enjoy the movie due to the emoing i was going though at that point of time. Pegs went to find her friends after that and i met up with the godbro - he was having problems - for dinner.

Met Andy, My BMT mate after that (evidently he was also at Cineleisure and he saw me and called me) and we chatted for quite long. Roland and co went off to Jalan Kayu. Me and Dave would later move off to Yishun Dam where we were joined by Bear. Went off to AMK Mac after that as it was gonna rain. Went home around 4+ am.

Hi,

took half day to come home earlier today, kinda had a minor accident at work so came home earlier to go see the doc. The forehead had a hole on it. The doc saw it and commented that he could not stitch it back as part of the skin was missing. Therefore prolly the only thing to do was to leave it. The doc was quite humorous as well as he said that it (the hole) could be added to my list of battle scars... Mebbie he thinks that i'm Harry Porter. Though my scar would not be like a lightning streak but is in the form of a Y... LOL! Mebbie i should find a nemesis or a GF whose name starts or contains the letter Y. Hahaha!

Sickly week and yes, i'm yours...

Hi.

Its been a sickly week for me, started with a cough on monday at work which got progressively worse till i got home, after which i developed a bloody high fever at 38.2 degrees. Fell into a feverish sleep soon after.

Woke up on tuesday morning, still felt sucky. Measured my temp again only to find out that its gone up to 38.6 degrees. Fell asleep again after smsing my guys at work that i'll be seeing the doctor due to illness. Woke up again at 11 to see the doc and felt better after taking the meds. Nua-ed the whole day.

Wednesday came very fast and i went to work as usual. No problems except for the sore throat.

Thursday came and had flu. Had to work with tissue on hand to mop up my nose. Felt terrible. Was quite busy too.

Felt cheery on friday, as on all fridays, no illnesses today.

Saturday came and it was all good for the first half of the day. Went to Acer again to collect my portable disk drive, had dinner with my father afterwhich i met bear to go to ikea. That was when it started going bad. Had stomache cramps there and then. It got progressively worse throughout the night, rolling about in pain on my bed until about 4am when i remembered i got some pamacematol left over from my high fever meds. Popped a couple and fell asleep immediately.

Woke up to loud music, gongs and drums. Someone was getting married underneath my block. Felt better although there were still some cramping here and there.

It did not help when i saw the Manchester United vs Liver-poo score. Disappointing. Oh well, Championships are not lost due to a single match. Hope SAF and the team bring home to championship again this year so that we can get back at the poos and show them who's boss.

Soccer session was fun... damn fun, even though my team lost 2-0, we had lots of chances to win it - if i had taken all my chances (rusty la... somemore its been like 10 years since i've played soccer on a basketball court). I must admit, I'm pretty surprised myself, cos i ran my heart out. Might not looked like it, but i pretty much ran for every ball (nick can attest to that =P) without feeling tired (much) even though i haven't played soccer for the past few months after i picked up paintball with Vince (my street soccer kaki). I think the hearty performance was due to the session being at night and the paintball sessions that i've had...

Paintball helps OK.

Surprisingly, after my blog entry about the peep from HDB not calling me back, well, he called (wonders if someone monitoring this?). We arranged to meet up tuesday evening (Today) after work.

Mr Hamed arrived promptly at the appointed time and was very polite. He seemed very understanding and helpful to listen to the problems and take note of my suggestions. Whats left now is to see if anything will be done besides the more-or-less confirmed metal poles infront of the bike lots to improve the bike lot shortage.

Kudos to a civil servant who serves the citizens even after work hours. We do need more people like him in the service. Lets now hope that he can deliver.

Haiz... something happened to the bike again and i had to have it repaired... another bomb... T_T

Some fucker knocked down the bike beside mine and it fell on the K7 which i parked under canvas as it is my weekend bike. Came home from work to find the bike lying on mine. Set it upright again with the help of some neighboors and felt lucky that my bike had no damage. I then wiped the bike clean and re-covered it with the canvas. The next thing i knew, the bike was on the floor.

came in as 2nd Runners' up, Singapore Paintball Novice Series 2009 Leg 1.

Chuffed.

Thats how i'm still feeling, 3 days after coming in 3rd at the Leg 1 of the Singapore Paintball Novice Series 2009.

Damn chuffed.

It seemed like only yesterday when i joined my soccer buddies Vince & Co for my first ever paintball game. I still remember losing the first two games then winning the last one by pulling along my friend's wife behind me to plant the flag for the win and blocking all the paintballs that came our way as i was already out of ammo.

I still remember clearly what i told Vince after the game - "If u are gonna take up this game as a hobby, you can ask me along."

We went into the forums to introduce ourselves and very soon, we found ourselves doing our BTO (Joran made me do it! =D). Offers to join Teams came in hard and fast but we were not sure if we should just join to make up the numbers or form our own team.

Couple of Rec Games later and Cavin jumped into the bandwagon with us. By January he was BTO-ed and got his gear (more expensive than mine btw... RICH!).

A month later, we were bombarded by many peeps (BBen, SBen, Jane, Joran - just to name a few) to join SPNS and were thrown into a "Lost Souls" team with 3 other peeps that we have never played with before. Brandon (PB old bird), Wei Jun (a peep who took BTO with me and Vince) and Abdullah (who took BTO with Cavin). Brandon would then drop out due to work commitments and Cavin was drafted in to take his place.

January was a busy month as we were at RD almost every weekend to either get our stuff, attend kiko's clinic, get some training in. Grant, our team Daddy-O/Ghostcatcher gave us advise and loaned us equipment in preparation for SPNS.

31st January came and we walked the field to gain some insight as to how we would play our game. 1st Feb came damn faster and POOF - we were actually duelling with other more established players of the game.

In the end, we came in a brilliant 3rd, an amazing result for what was deemed to be the weakest team, as the other newly formed teams had either various experienced players who played overseas, or had players from other teams which could not make it guesting for them. I do not know how we did it, everything is a blur right now, i still cannot believe that the bronze medal is in our possession.

Singapore Paintball Novice Series 2009

Its official.

After getting bombarded by many people asking us to join the SPNS 2009, we have decided to give it a go. We will be entering the competition by the team name - Dark Militia.

Many thanks to the person (and team) who made it possible for us, Mr Grant AKA Houdini of Team Damnation, for grouping us together and offering to take care of our equipment, training and organisation for SPNS 2009 Leg 1. A great many, many thanks to all who offered us help in anyway possible, as well as Red Dynasty (organisers of SPNS 2009) for making special exceptions for us.

The team lineup for this leg will be strictly for Leg 1 only as we have 2-3 peeps from other teams that are not sending in teams to play, hopefully we will get our team formed by Leg 2. We also hope to learn from our more experienced teammates by playing together with them.

Hope that we can at least qualify for the finals!

Hi peeps,

I'm home early! What a surprise yah! lol.

I haven't been home so early in weeks.

Anyways i'll be posting some (others still with Vivian) of the photos taken for the XMas party i had.

But first, i feel i have to reply to one of the comments i have in my CBox (the chatbox on the right) by Pegs as my reply would prolly be too long. =P

Pegs: HAHA, you dun need another one to be happy..Friends and family can be enough! And you should treasure time alone too. I asked tt ques tt I asked EVERY GUY! HAHAHAHAHAHA..Gonna be les soon..=P

My Reply: I'm actually very contented with life right now, being busy on weekends, meeting friends, going places, playing paintball, going track with my bike. However, i feel that you are only half right when you say Friends and Family can be enough. Sure, i love my family and my friends alot, however, sad to say of cos, they can only provide me with so much.

Why do i say that? Can you tell your family or friend your deepest secrets? How many of your friends would sit by your side and hear your sob stories, lend u their shoulders to cry on (not that i do, i have up crying a long time ago. Its just a figure of speech.)? Even if there was, would u want to let them know everything? Your parents would prolly just nag at you (generation gap), you will wonder if your friends think that you are a bother or even if they would tell others what you have just confided in them.

I'm not saying that without "The One" i cannot be happy, i'm just saying that it would truely complete my life. Friendship, Kinship, Relationship. There are certain things u cannot do with your friends or family. Like sitting down at some beautiful beach, stargazing, soft music, exchanging sweet nothings, listening to the sound of the waves. Cannot do with your friends or family right? Imagine a group of guys or girls doing that. No "WUHEELING" ahh.

You spoke about treasuring your alone time. I do. There are times which i enjoy my time alone, doing my own stuff. However, i have grown to rather hate it as i have prolly been alone for most of my life up until now. As a single child, i have spent my childhood playing by myself. I was shy (still am, only not as shy as i was then), i dun have many friends (now i have alot! BLESSED!) so i dun get to talk much (which prolly is why i'm such a good listener =P). The only peeps i was hanging out with was my cousins (luv them deep deep arh). My parents are the type of people who dun go out much or socialise much. That culminated to me being the way i was.

Thats why i hate being alone, i love to have people around me, chatting, even just sitting down at coffeebean and watching people walk by. Kinda boring i guess, but beats being alone.

Whats up with the les thing sia. =D I think its a terrible waste for girls to become lesbians. Girls are for guys like me(ehhhhh machiam like wat sia =P HO MAN WOR =D) to be cuddle and loved. Girls with girls, not cool. =P So, dun be uncool. It ain't natural. =P

Met Ben, R6 Beng and Co around 11pm for kopi @ Simpang Bedok. Asked Bear to meet me there. He agreed but in the end he flew off in a Airbus 380 to meet Zhou Gong... Fell asleep he said. Made me worry and the fact that he did not pick up his HP had me worried. Who the hell can tarhan 46 missed calls? Anyway, reached home around 4am and blogged till 6am.

Woke up ard 11am. Met Edward and Co for dinner and movie at Plaza Singapura. Had dinner @ Manhattan and watched "Yes Man" by Jim Carey. It was a very good laugh, though i thought that Jim Carey has toned down his funny gimmicks quite abit. It was quite educational too, it kinda teaches us to dare to try things that we would have normally declined to do, as we might never know that something good might happen out of it.

Went to Marina Barrage after that to slack after the show. Damn shiok la. The breeze was strong and cool. I think it will be my next favorite haunt given my love for cool sea breezes. Got WiFi somemore. Went home around 3am.

Sunday, 21st Dec 2008

Woke up brite and early (9am) for a street soccer session ( OHHH ITS BEEN TOO LONG~~ T_T) with Vince and the rest of the Street Soccer gang. It felt great to be able to play soccer once again.

Went home around 12pm, ate and rested abit before packing my barang barang and headed down to Red Dynasty Paintball Field to meet Vince for some paintball action. We were abit too late as the other peeps on the forum had already finished their Skirmish. However, the peeps who were still there indulged us with a couple rounds of paintball. Although we lost both games, me and Vince were given some precious advise on how we did and what we should do by Big Ben himself.

As we still had about a pod of paint left, so me and Vince took to the speedball field again for some one on one. Tried out what Big Ben taught me, and it kinda proved to be real good advise. Fast movement between the bunkers, tried out various ways of holding the markers and shooting while running. Good stuff. Managed to get Vince on quite a number of occasions. I think i got him at least twice on the head? Heh. I think i have more or less decided on the position i want to play, perhaps more of a wide mid or forward role. Gotta train up my stamina though, if i really wanna excel at this. Time to get some more protection too. Pants, knee and elbow guards are in order, i believe.

Was already damn shagged by the time i left RD, but i still had to go get my Wave from Bear's place (Minor Project. LoL. Will prolly post some pics once i'm free.). Bear picked me up from my place at around 7 and we went to Simpang Bedok to have our dinner after picking up the Wave. After that, it was back to his place to accompany him as he gives the Shadow some TLC before Bjorn came to pick it up. Bjorn finally shows up at around 10pm and Bear went with him for a cuppa. I declined the offer as i was simply too tired. Crashed on my bed immediately after i reached him at ard 11.30pm.

It was the end of a fufilling weekend...

As i sit here in front of the computer table, trying recall what i did last weekend, i have a feeling of contentment, seeing how my weekends are all maximised. However, i still feel abit emo. Life is good now, friends, bikes, activities aplenty. It's just that, i'm still missing that bit which would prolly make my life complete at this point.

It has just begun raining now, kinda matches what i'm feeling now at 2.30am on XMas eve. Though i'm supposed to be Evil, i'm still generally good and i hope Santa would send someone to me for XMas.

Haven't had the chance to walk to Kent Ridge park yet, perhaps one fine day i will try to walk the whole damn thing again. It's a nice place to go actually, good view and the pathways are easy to walk. Pegs asked a strange question while walking back. Still quite perturbed about why she would suddenly ask this kind of question. Was it something i did? Nah, lets not think too much. =) It was pretty much my forte until these few years which i learnt that its better to relax, go with the flow, and let things fall into place. What will happen will happen, we cannot change the end product, so its up to us if we want to enjoy our lives or just fret about whats gonna happen next. So, lets juz chill boys and girls!

Anyway, went home to slack and nap for awhile before going to Ngee Ann Poly to submit my certifications for the diploma i'm taking. Took awhile to find NP as i forgot where it was, confused it for SP. When i finally did reach NP, i was smiling to myself. Dunno why, but it felt good to be in a younger crowd again. Hope my potiencial classmates are the younger generation too - prays damn hard - although its highly unlikely (as its a part-time dip).

Went home after that and napped until 8pm where i then went to Bukit Indah (Malaysia) with Marcus and Co for a delicious dinner. The Kong Bah was damn good - sorry but in the face of damn good food, the diet has to take a step back. There goes the effects of the morning exercise. - Ben and me ordered seconds. Old man and me didn't dare to take the really fatty skin and the thick layer of fats underneath it though, we just lusted after the sweet, juicy, lean meat under all the fats.

Went full trottle going back, was really disappointed with the original pipe, top speed dropped to ard 260+, must either change pipe or the bike soon. R1 2009 next year perhaps? Went to yishun dam after coming back to SG. After relaxing for a couple of hours there we moved to Jalan Kayu for a drink. Kopi-ed there till 4+ before we all went home

Saturday

Woke up early (9+am) to meet Vince at Red Dynasty to check out some paintball stuff. Big Ben and Jane were not around due to being in Taiwan for a paintball competition. There were loads of people there and i realised that it was the paintball event that SISEU (Singapore Industrial & Services Employee Union) organised. We checked out some of the games played and was about to leave to have breakfast when we met Dixion and co (union members from my company).

I was surprised that my company had anyone in the competition but they looked quite happy to see me. They asked me why i was there which i promptly replied that i was a regular there. It was then i learnt why they were happy to see me. It seems that they were short of a player as their original member had something on and that they could not find a replacement in time. Me, being a member of the union and a paintball player meant that i was pretty much the perfect candidate for a replacement player.

I was quite reluctant to play as i did not have any barang barang with me - my personal mask, soccer boots and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) - i was in only berms, crocs and my favorite black gixxer polo tee. In the end i agreed as i was itching to play and moreover it was free as they have already paid the participation fee.

Each team had to play two games in the same field (we got field 1) and those teams which had teams winning both their games would proceed to the semis. My team won the first round and lost the second. I was feeling quite fustrated at losing the second round as i managed to take out almost the entire opposition single handedly but one cheater (i will name him as Cheater and the rest of his team by numbers - no.2 onwards) who got about 4-5 shots from me, won the game for them.

The situation goes like this. My team was on the side of the field where the entrance is. I moved to forward left bunker after the "game on" signal, 1st shot headshot cheater (he did not call himself out but ducked back to cover), moved on to No.2 beside him, shot him out. Moved back to Cheater, shot him again once on the head and once on the chest (he ducked back into cover again without calling himself out), moved on to No.3 and No.4 in the forward centre and forward right bunker, took them out and moved back to Cheater. Got him on the head once and i was calling for the ref to check him when i got shot myself. I promptly called myself out and headed back to home base. This is when Cheater came out and took the flag back to his own base and won the game. Didn't know why the ref did not catch it since he was quite near. I wudda contested the game result if i had known that it was Cheater who won the game for them as i was running back to home base. I only found out later that it was Cheater who got the flag from Vince who was watching the game from outside the field. Game results cannot be contested once the captain has verified the result - according to what i have learned at BTO.

Anyway, although i was sore from losing to a inferior team due to a lack of sportmanship - or should i say "HONESTY" on the part of just one player, it was fun and i enjoyed two free games of paintball and i'ma happy boy.

Wud juz like to tell "Cheater", who was sporting a ponytail, wearing a blue MAE t-shirt and specs with progressive lens from Team "ST Aviation 2", I hope u aren't as "HONEST" as u are in your game as in you are in your work, its ok to be dishonest during the game but if u are dishonest in our line of work u will be putting alot of ppl at risk.

Okok back to the topic instead of the sore loser rumblings,

Went home to wash up and collect the drinks from Kai before going home. Went home to drop off the drinks and left for Bear's house immediately as i was due to leave my wave at his place for some "bike improvements". We then went for inspection of our cubs with bear's dad @ Viacom - Changi. After leaving the wave at Bear's place, he gave me a lift home and i met up with the godbro and cavin at ard 4pm.

The night was passed with dinner at Bugis Junction Sakae Sushi where we ate a record of $110+ for 3 persons.

Thats about all there is for last weekend, it was really enjoyable weekend for the second successive time, hope to have more enjoyable weekends during the festive period!

Welcome to the latest "installment" of Tire Tracks!

Had a really nice weekend last week, had my company D&D at Swissotel The Stamford (Raffles City CC). Damned bloody fun. The food was not bad, games were quite ok, skits and talent performances were great and the lucky draw prizes was wooooo! Someone from my table won a 40" LCD HD TV from Samsung. What luck (why can't it be mine!!! %^&^*#$%)!

The day did not start well though, it rained hard just as i was about to step out of the house with my helmet and all. Guess it was just as well as it allowed me to "drink" (Remember! Dun drink and drive, nor should you drink before u drive! Only drink after you "FINISH" driving and do not drive again after u drink!) Had only abt 3-4 glasses of white wine and a couple of beers. Bear had abit too much during the D&D. So much so that he "merlion-ed" into a large soup bowl. Imagine the waitress's face... Hilarious! Too bad i wasn't there to see it - though it was funny enuff to just hear it. Went to the dance floor just to "not" be myself - all so serious and woody - and just relieved some stress!

Went home early at about 12.30am as Raymond was coming by my house to pass me my new phone - HTC Diamond. Whoopee! The next day was gonna be just as happening. Can't wait!

Woke up brite and early. Today was the day that i would be damn shag as i had 2 paintball sessions in a day @ RD. The morning session was organised for some of the pinoys (Filipinos) in my company. My friend Vince came along as i had one of my pinoys drop out.

Since me and Vince were the only ones that had any prior experience with paintball so we were separated and became the captains of each team. After the safety brief, it was game on!

My team won the first round quite fast, It didn't take longer than 10 mins to score the first win. In fact, it was so fast that we could squeeze in an additional round. Vince's team took the second round and we were tied for that game. After that, it was clear which team was the winner as my team took control and finished the session as winners by taking the next and final two games. It was damned fun as i was shouting at my teammates while taking cover and shooting at people at the same time. All in all it was good fun and i believe my pinoys went home really happy.

Vince and i hung around RD for awhile washed up and left for home to rest up and prepare for the next round of paintball in the form of the Paintball Clinic conducted by Big Ben (King). I played around with my new phone for abit before going down to RD yet again.

After the safety brief, we were grouped into teams. Vince was with me as well as a couple others as a team. I think it was kinda unfair for the other teams as i think we were the ones with the most members (6, while the others had 5) and we were prolly the ones with the most experience as well - me, Vince and Ian.

Each team played like one round each VS another team and were given advise on how to shoot properly, what they should have done in some situation they faced, as well as safety issues. Taking masks off in the field in a definite nono which will prolly have people shouting at you, "PLAYER! MASK ON!" or prolly a paintball up in yer eye. Not joking!

I was still ok with the shag-ness but during the some of the games played, my teammates were kinda pinned down so i had to get down and dirty to run and get the objectives. WHICH, I did, and we won the game! I was so tired during one of the games that i literally just sat down behind one of the barrels and took five. LOL. Luckily the game ended quite soon after that and i was able to take a well earned rest.

The session ended with a viewing of the video taken by Jane - President of the Paintball Association of Singapore. One of the videos showed me in a embarrassing but really funny way, going forward to take the objective without taking down the first objective first. Everyone had a good laugh when i got shouted at and then, realising my mistake, threw the objective back down. However, i was glad to say that i got both the objectives which won the game, albeit being shagged like hell.

Went home shagged but happy, i think this is one sport that i'll prolly go into quite frequently, hope to find more ppl to join me and perhaps form a team or something. First thing i need to do though, is to train up and get more stamina. Even though i might be just playing as a back player. Front players are more fun - up close and personal!

The knees were quite sore after i went home, gonna be worse tml... Oh ya... i didn't manage to do OT on Hari Raya as the units that were supposed to come in, didn't. Extra money fly away. SIANz!

Yay another weekend coming up fast, might be going to Benguin's birthday paintball party on sat - see how first haha. Prolly going kulai with the peeps on friday night. But one thing's for sure, i'm gonna have to wake up early later as i'll be meeting someone at around 6 at henderson wave bridge and it almost 2am already.

Anyway, i'm on leave later as i am bringing down my certs to Ngee Ann Poly as i have already applied for a part-time dip there so... yeah. First step to my dream of becoming an aircraft engineer. I will do it!

Woot.

BTO was fun. Although it had a MCQ test and i didn't quite know how to answer some of them, i passed the test along with everyone of the participants.

Practicals were the most happening part, it got more exciting with the centre line taken away. There were two games for each of the 4 teams. I was in Team 4. Lost one won one.

Gonna go down to RD for another paintball session next week with peeps from my company on sunday morning, and go back to RD again in the late afternoon for a paintball clinic.

The wallet is getting slimmer and slimmer (i hope i am too =D) but the fun is all worth it.

Feeling quite bored these days, nothing exciting going on, wish that the paintball sessions come soon, can't wait to try out the new mask in battle. The annoying rain has taken the shine off riding, too bad my passion has no shelter ya. Anyway, i'm no puss (unlike some people), so i'll live with it.

The bike died on me recently, battery and rectifier gone bust, which made my wallet go bust too, poorer by 300 bucks which was meant for my new pipe, oh BTW i have already sold off my LV pipe, so yeah, that put quite a dent on my plans. Oh well, theres a interesting proposition around somewhere, i'll prolly take a look someday soon...

Will be getting a old set of fairings for the Wave FOC (Thanks Bear) as someone (Thats u, bear. Take a bow) just bought another kup (Wave 125!) with free box, new set fairings, free sprocket and chain, last but not least a new front tyre as well. Ah yes, anyway, just to inform everyone, i'll be taking a part-time dip at NP for 3 years. Diploma in Technology Majoring in Mechanical. I have decided to stick to the current job as IT simply has limited prospects (IMHO - dun flame me.) So, since i am in this line already, i might as well make the best of it, if it is the wrong choice, i will still have my dip and i can go anywhere i like! Degree perhaps?
