Trackday 21st October 2007!

Finally got the trackday pics from Leon!

Leon (Super4), Enyao (R1 2004), Malcolm (DRZ 400 SM) and Me (GSXR 600 K7) went for a long awaited trackday on sunday @ Pasir Gudang. Malcolm joined us after his overnight duty therefore he did not bring along his gear. =\ But juz as well we got ourselves a camera man!

Malcolm wanted to head up himself via Second Link so we took the first link... Jammed...

One jam after the other... but itz ok car jams doesn't bother me.

Had sometime b4 Enyao and Leon reach so took a couple of pics...

This guy was pretty suspicious of me as if he knew i was gonna try to take a photo of him... Does he have eyes at the back of his head?

Did a couple of warm up laps b4 i went hard on the throttle as i was still getting used to the bike, it was fun and easier to control compared to my precious GSXR 1000 K2. I still remember getting a jolt when i felt my boots scraping the tarmac. =D

Getting ready to roll

I got chased... Hey don't bully me ok me n00b!

Me coming into the finishing straight...

Video of me and Enyao exiting the last bend and accelerating into the finishing straight.

There was a particular lap in which i fell, i was coming up on this chicane (S course some might put it) and i braked too late and went into the sand. The bike was quite slow when the sand gave way, and it landed gently onto the sand. However the sand were quite sharp and caused quite a few scratches. Heart pain. A good guy riding a red mito helped me get my bike up again and gave me some friendly advise on countering the sand.

Carrying on, after a few more laps, i encountered the most exciting period of my biking days. Time was up and and we had to go for our last lap. I was juz gonna wack the trottle wide open after turn 1 (straight road after that), this k3/k4 came up and overtook me. I was then on the up slope of the straight and the k3/k4 was on the downslope. I suddenly noticed him swerve to the left and i guess he hit some dirt and lost control of his bike. By then i was already traveling downslope and i quickly turned on my hazards and slowed down. The rider was thrown off the bike and was flipped up again and again as was the bike. When the rider came to a stop, the bike was still flipping and for a moment there i thought the bike was gonna fall on top of the rider. Now that was gonna be serious. Thankfully the bike juz stopped beside him and i quickly stopped to render aid.

After making sure he was alrite, i found out from the rider that his bike had hit a monitor lizard and subsequently lost control. I began sweeping the smashed bits and pieces of his bike off the track to prevent any1 from hitting them and causing another accident.

I then returned to the pits to get some rest and watched as the track officials and the rider's friends went to retrieve him and his bike. After that it was time to leave however there was still time for some pics...

What the K3/K4 looked like after it was retrieved...

A close up of me and my bike... cool eh...

All in all i had fun, although my bike had a minor fall, witnessed a major accident for the first time in my life, i'm still glad that i went and i look forward to going again!
